Kakis are the best

Had some quality time with my kakis this weekend. Been a long while since I've seen S & K. They're my dearest friends in the world even if we get more caught up in our separate lives. They're always my rock in hard times and they'd be the first I'd turn to if I were dying or somethin.

And I needed their company this weekend. To get back to myself. Not by talking or sharing about my troubles with exams and school and blasted moots and my complicated personal life and my unhappiness; but simply by spending time together doing whatever we wanted. This time it was monopoly. Yesh, three 24 year olds playing monopoly at midnight with footie on the telly providing the background. United were winning. This was therapy at its zenith. Hahaha.

Girls get together and talk. But guys just bond through the unspoken word most times. And I love my guys. We may not hug and share our thots and feelings, but we know so much about each other and care so much more. I miss having these sleepovers. We used to do it so much. All niters of Worms or Risk or Car Wars or watever else we felt like. It was simple fun shared by compadres. As kel used to say 'let's bond'... Deal the cards then. hahaha.

Anyways watched some movies earlier too, something I haven't done much lately. And haven't watched with them for an even longer time. So it was a good nite. Watched Oceans' Twelve with S first. STYLE. In big caps. That's what the movie simply is. What with all the stars and Sorderbergh at the helm, it would take ALOT for this to go wrong. It didn't, but the first one was so much more fun to watch. This one tried to be too clever with the plot, and all that fragmented story-telling just took the ooh-la-la and enjoyment out of it. Still worth a watch tho. Zeta-Jones looks AMAZING. God pleeease let my wife look That good after we have kids. pleeease. -end prayer-

Three of us then settled down to National Treasure. Thoroughly enjoyed this one. Nicholas Cage in a Action adventure with lotsa quips and his trademark hilarious subtle facial expressions. I've always had a thing for shows that build on long-held knowledge and twisted them around to give a whole new world of conspiracy and secrets. Think Terminator, Matrix and Forrest Gump. Things that u take for granted which the story turns on its head cos you consider it in a different way. This time it was the US Declaration of Independence, the Liberty Bell and Wall Street. A story about hidden treasure woven into the American War against the British through to the civil war; and having those items long held as national artefacts having new significance as clues laid down to find the treasure. It's great action with Nic Cage faring fantastically as usual. Plus with Diane Kruger as his love interest (Helen of Troy *drool*), how can u go wrong?? Well a good start to the movie trail.
