I've watched a couple of chick flicks in the last few weeks in honour of the women in my life (Yes I'd have watched them anyways in my movie heyday but I've to be more selective now cos there ain't musch time.)

First up was The Lake House which is a remake of Lee Hyun-seung's acclaimed Korean romance 'Il Mare'. Keanu and Sandra team up for the first time since 'Speed' and once again fall in love, this time in a gogrgeous glass house on the lake that incorporates a lovely growing Oak in its very centre. Acrchetectural masterpieces aside, twas typical date movie fare. Nice and fuzzy. They even lived happily ever after in this one. Say it with me now "Hollywood cop out!"

Next up was My Super Ex Girlfriend. Uma Thurman as neurotic Jenny Johnson and secret superhero, G-Girl (Why G-Girl and not G-Woman? Zippier?). Luke Wilson as the nice guy typical of his roles (Think ALL his movies) and Rainn Wilson as the second banana who says and does all the wrong ones. For some reason this particular superhero can access her powers only after she slips on something tighter and a whole lot less comfortable-looking but quite sexy. Quite interesting developing on the premise that Superheroes might abuse their power when they get spurned in love. The make out scenes were hilarious and that cute girl from scary movie finally gets a decent role (barely) but otherwise this movie isn't much of a cut above the classic chick flick despite its original ideas.

Oh how seasonal hollywood is... It's rom-coms galore right now - this (which Ms TT is qt lookin forward to) and that are up next.
I am looking forward to this one tho :)

Think it's time to watch some sans analytical action or comedy (or both). But doesn't look like any good ones a-coming. You up for this or this Shun?
