I found Neverland!

The movie marathon continued today with Finding Neverland.

This is DEFINITELY a must watch. It's the story of J M Barry, who wrote Peter Pan, and how he got the inspiration to write that masterpiece. Johnny Depp as Barry is just pure gold. Who else can exude such class and complexity yet shine through as a child at heart? He truly deserves his Best Actor nomination and is a good bet for the big prize itself with this poignant portrayal that should be much more up the academy's alley as opposed to his hilarious (yet equally brilliant) turn in Pirates of the Carribean the year before.

Plus the kid that plays the title role of Peter in the show is really a talented little lad. His name is Freddie Highmore and he's one to watch. The scene with him and his sick mother (Kate Winslet) before the play was without much dialouge but so touching.

This show is such a sweet tale that makes u feel warm all over despite the death of the mum and Barry's separation from his wife. It's a well told tale, with lotsa underlying imagery and parallels between Barry's life, neverland, and our everyday lives. I thoroughly enjoyed this one. DO watch this!

Totally agree abt Neverland..though it is really a loose biography abt the author. He was far from the suave Johnny Depp, allegedly a very short man who sexual inclinations were questioned. It was written that he never consummated his marriage with his wife. Peter's father was still alive when he wrote the story of Peter Pan, unlike what was potrayed --- *blink blink r*
