A recap of the cny weekend is akin to me telling you how to prepare a writ, an S-I-C for an injunction and two affidavits (one of them 189 pages long) while doing the legwork, and walking the tight-rope, of a multi million dollar corporate buy-out.

Cos that's what I did over the supposedly long weekend! It was SO much shorter than my usual weekend dammit. Oh the agony of lost free time...

Anyways the 1st case all culminated in our late late hearing on wednesday evening which was full of drama due in no small part to clients changing and including more and more info as the day progressed as well as EFS filing cock-ups and a certain booboo on my part with service addresses (heh).

But we got the injunction at 614pm! Woohoo!

Oh how the sweetness of victory makes up for all that lost time toiling away while the rest of the office is dark and cracking our heads at the stupid legal work (also called strategising which is fun at times) not to mention frantically zapping documents to exhibit and rushing out to court. I was quite proud to be part of that team of 2 mamas and 2 half mamas that stuck with it during the lunar new year. Cos we got it!

I guess this is a good precursor to what it'll be like for me in future. I felt like I was doing the moots again. That adrenaline just before the submission deadline. The excitement at seeing your hard work come to fruition.... And the pride on a job (well) done in the end. And this time I liked all my teammates :p

On the home front, I must say Mum was super understanding for a change... This was especially treasured cos a certain never-ending saga reared its head again.

Mum gave me full emotional support this entire weekend... which is not usually the case. Ok rather she didn't complain or demand anything of me for a change. But I really appreciate not being nagged about things, even more so after a long day at work.... So that was brilliant. Guess she realised the sacrifice that went in, considering the circumstances, and how lousy i must be feeling :)

Managed to squeeze in a bit of visiting somehow, and I found a cousin once-removed on my chinese side that lives down the road from me! She's 2-3 yrs older and is quite pretty. Married to this pesky church worker tho :p Overall I was very pleased to have 'found' her and to see my grandma's chinese family. My chinese heritage that has some innate roots in my inner being... somehow. haha.

Just an aside - my cousin looks much more malay than us! *lol* Talk about irony.

Another thing I managed to squeeze in was the purchase of a mega flat screen tv. Our old CRT tv has been a trusty servant for a decade now, but a month back the red bulb blew... So I've been watching Man Utd play in black (instead of red) for the better part of the month. And rather than fix it, my mum figured why not buy. I chipped in with ' rather than just buy any new tv, let's get a shiok LCD screen'.

Which I did.

So tonite I leave you to relax in front of my orgasmic 32-inch ( not to mention si beh chioh!) LCD Television.

Best.
