Chloe is the fiction potrayal of the sad reality that the romance disappears from marriages
What Julianne Moore said scares me "We just got so busy"
I fear this more than anything in my life. Will my partner not take the effort for me. That the intimacy will disappear. That the sexual chemistry will fall flat. That the romps become few and far between. That the special dinners or trips or plans will be a distant memory.
I applaud the movie for not taking the cliched stand that the man cheated but instead put the spotlight on the paranoid wife who forgot and can't bring herself to touch her man anymore.
Whatever works for the marriage can only works years down the road if you work at it.
And I for one, for all that I love kids and look fwd to having them, fear that I or my partner will lose sight of the more impt thing - us. And that will be the death of the family. Cos without that first, there is no kid in the first place. And letting the commitments and kids time be an excuse for being tired, busy, stingy, or thoughtless with your partner has happened in many a marriage. I pray it does not happen to mine. Cos it takes two hands to clap. And while I dont condone the men who have affairs, for every 2 of them, 1 is borne out of a wife who just stopped being a wife and just became a mother 100% of the time.
