It's been another busy week although my friday was quite relaxing in comparison. The firm had a CNY luncheon too where I ate like mad for a change. They gave away hong baos and I bagged 6 bucks. Woohoo. Scooted off from the office at 6+ for dance, suitably pleased. Little did I know that work would be winging its way to me via mobile.
Yups I got called for some weekend dragon-chasing (ie research on a point that makes a lot of sense theoretically, but practically the case authority for it never exists). Hence my night out was a little subdued. It doesn't help that I'm beginning to get a bit jaded with my friday nights without the gang. Where're u guys?!?
Anyways I watched Match Point with a fren J after which we had a cathartic talk about relationships past and that gave me one of those epiphanic moments on what I should do even if it is very difficult to. Night, or morning, rather ended with me caving and allowing myself a Macs breakfast. A luxury I hadn't indulged in for a while now...
Saturday was a sleep-in, followed by work and a late lunch date with CT. That was when i embarassingly got the meeting place wrong. Went to adams instead of hv. *piakforehead* Abang getting old siall... Well he helped sort that out with a cab ride over to mistaken me and we had a nice long session over roti john, maggi goreng, teh and coke light. I returned the favour by giving him a lift to where he was gonna meet his gf.
Zipped off to the office after and got what needed to be done there done, leaving everything else that could be done at home to be settled another time. Then I rushed off for a movie marathon session with g. Caught Walk the Line, Fun with Dick & Jane followed by Constant Gardener. A bit too tired to do the review but the Johny cash biopic would be my pick of the lot. Joaquin Phoenix really did brilliant at the singing and Reese Witherspoon was no push-over either. This Hollywood strategy of musical bipoics might just land Joaquin a bets actor oscar to follow in Jamie Foxx's footsteps (in Ray).
Anyways went home to crash and got up bright and early for work. 12 hours of research and writing later (ok segmented by a 4 hour nap in between) and I still wasn't very close to finding what my boss really needs. *sigh* I hate chasing dragons....
Well it's time to zzz now. Another work week beckons.
