Well today started off with a surprise at work. My boss had taken leave! So grandiose plans were made for lunch. Toa Payoh for carrot cake? Bendemeer for freshly baked buns? Even the Airport was suggested. lol. Anyways I came up with Old Airport Road in order to have my favourite rojak and it flew, due in no small part to No.3.
Work was a sideshow despite the mountain we had and we were constantly taking chat-breaks and talking with each other, and I was facebooking. Can you believe US beat Spain?!?! Got some advice out to one or two emails but before you could say "oh snap", it was noon!
So down the AYE we headed, then onto the ECP and we were there. I made a beeline for the rojak stall cos of the insane wait that develops at lunchtime, but twas only queue numbers down (he has this queue card system and a number display like polyclinics!). So I got a $5 plate for the team and another $5 plate for myself. Yep, polished it off after my 'appetiser' of nasi lemak, washed down with soya bean drink and sugarcane with lemon. Lovely. My team was pretty became converts as they loved the rojak! No.3, still recovering from diarrhea, wasn't too enamoured. Oh well can't win em all.
Headed back to the office full and contented. And true enough psot-lunch productivity was lowwww. Doens't help that Da Boss isn't in too. Haha. So more facebook and office chats, especially about Da Boss and how he wants to be more than just general counsel, perhaps... MD? I extricated myself from the discussion after awhile and knuckled down to some work lest I have to do much more this weekend than the last. 2 telephone conferences, 3 emails and a contract later, twas time to head off as my mum called to see if we were meeting at nai's.
Got there in time to see Adam head off on his walk with my mum and the maid. Settled into the sofa and watched tv till they came back, then Nai got home, then Luke got home. We hung ard till 8 then headed off to Nai's postponed Bday dinner. Picked this Jap restaurant that was pretty rated for it sashimi and sushi, and my research paid off cos she liked it. Even mum did, and that's somethin cos jap ain't her at all. We chatted and talked about when we were younger, our family habits, having children and a variety of things.
Set off about quarter past ten very full and slightly (ok very) sluggish and got them to drop me near adams where I walked the rest of the way. Tat and me arrived about the same time and sat down to catch up. He's a good friend and I'm glad to have him around especially at times like this. He always there for me and I envy the steadiness of his rship with Cheryl. They're heading off to HK tomorrow for a 5 day weekend. Yang came later and we talked and bantered. Made us miss the uni days where we could do this as later as we wanted. Unfortunately, work calls. After another round on Tat's account we headed back and boy was I tired when I stepped into the house. Showered and here I am, abit late with the post but as promised. Gonna join ya in dreamland now ;)
Hope u have a good rest and the kitty alarm doesn't spoil your mornin.
Bon Nuit!
